  1.      Hi, new DXHUNTER mate.
  2.      TNX for your interest.

  4.      INSTALLATION Proceed as follows:
  5.      Create  a temporary directory on your Hard Disk (i.e. DXHTMP) with the
  6.      command MD DXHTMP.
  7.      Copy the content of the floppy disk into the temporary directory (from
  8.      C:\DXHTMP, type the command copy A:\*.*).
  9.      From  C:\DXHTMP  execute the command PKUNZIP *.ZIP; this will  inflate
  10.      the compressed files.
  11.  
  12.      Note: In case of limited HD space.
  13.      At  this  step, if you have less than 3 M of free disk  space,  delete
  14.      the ZIP files to gain 1.1 M of disk space.
  15.      If  you  still have less than 3 M of free disk space, you'll  have  to
  16.      move  all (except the. zip files that must be deleted) on a 1.4  empty
  17.      floppy then type install from the floppy.
  18.  
  19.      From  C:\DXHTMP,  type  INSTALL;  this  will  start  the  installation
  20.      procedure.
  21.      You'll  be asked to enter the installation path; press enter to accept
  22.      C:\DXHUNTER\ which is the default (and suggested) path.
  23.      Once  the  installation is complete, follow the suggestions showed  by
  24.      the  installation program then remove the temporary directory and  its
  25.      content  (Warning --> FROM C:\DXHTMP <-- type DEL *.*, then CD..  then
  26.      RD DXHTMP.
  27.      At  this  step, make a backup copy of the installation disk  with  the
  28.      command DISKCOPY A: A:
  29.      Store  the disks carefully and don't loose them: they could be  useful
  30.      for future installations.

  32.      REGISTRATION  If you are not registered yet, consider that you can  do
  33.      it  at  any  time:  you  can transform  the  limited  copy  into  full
  34.      registered  without having to change any file, by just asking for your
  35.      user password; the password will turn the program into full registered  
  36.      your  call will be displayed in the title bar and any functional limit  
  37.      will disappear.
  38.      To obtain your user password, you'll have to pay a cheap contribution;
  39.      see file REGISTER.TXT for registration details.
  40.      If  the disk already contains a registered version (the USER.BIN  file
  41.      is  included  in  the floppy) you'll not need any password:  once  the
  42.      program is installed, it will work as full registered version.

  44.      DISTRIBUTION  ON BBS If the program is not already stored in your BBS,
  45.      you can upload it.
  46.      You'll have to upload just 2 files: DXH52E1.ZIP and DXH52E2.ZIP.
  47.      The suggested descriptions for these files are:
  48.      Advanced  DX  Cluster  Manager (PC+TNC) (for  DXH52E1.ZIP)  Multimedia
  49.      Extension for DXHUNTER 5.2 (for DXH52E2.ZIP) You can ask your sysop to
  50.      add  a little announcement about the program in the BBS logon messages
  51.      (you  can  do  it  yourself if enabled, with the  LOGON  command;  the
  52.      suggested LOGON message is:
  53.      DXCLUSTER>DXHUNTER:  FILES  DXH52E1.ZIP & DXH52E2.ZIP in \HAMTERM\  If
  54.      you  are  expert in forwarding, you can also think to forward it  into
  55.      your country; before doing this, contact me and wait for my OK.
  56.      This will avoid multiple simultaneous forwarding procedures.

  58.      DISTRIBUTION  VIA  FLOPPY  This floppy disk can be freely  copied  and
  59.      distributed   with  an  exception:  the  USER.BIN  file,  if   present
  60.  
  61.       INSTALL.TXT page 1

  63.      (registered copy), MUST NOT be included in the copy.
  64.      If  the USER.BIN file is passed along with the floppy, then a  generic
  65.      user  will be able to use the program only by setting your callsign on
  66.      his TNC, and this is not good, of course.
  67.      So,  if  you  are registered user, just remember not  to  include  the
  68.      USER.BIN file in the disk(s) you're going to distribute.

  70.      SERVICE DXHUNTER is supported by the author (me) in different ways.
  71.      A suggestion: if this is the first time you use this program, read the
  72.      STARTUP.TXT  file;  this  will save your time in  case  of  first-time
  73.      problems.
  74.      Another  suggestion:  read  the documentation files  (into  the  \DOC\
  75.      subdirectory) carefully, you'll probably discover new features, saving
  76.      your time (and mine) in case of well known problems.
